Description
We love chickens in our family. They are our loyal pets. Recently, one of our chickens, Poulo, passed away from old age. So we decided to build a SPIKE Chicken robot in her honor. It was a joint project by me and my daughter. We had a lot of fun building and it softened the loss. We only used parts from the 45678 SPIKE Prime kit and the 45681 SPIKE Prime Expansion kit.
Then I posted the chicken on Facebook and everyone started to ask for building instructions. So I worked for a week to create detailed SPIKE Prime building instructions.
I added wiring in the instructions. It’s a lot of work to bend and render the wires correctly. But it makes the building instructions much easier to follow. In the back of the PDF, I added Pybricks and LEGO SPIKE Prime building instructions. Since both are visual block languages, you can rebuild the program from the page. Any firmware will work!
The programs don’t have sound or light. That’s something you can add! It’s fun to watch real chickens move and try to program their behavior. Can you make this SPIKE chicken scratch in the dirt?
For your convenience, I also added both programs as downloads.
